Biogents AG, mosquito trap manufacturer, is proud to announce its latest development of a new trap for mosquito monitoring and control: the BG-Pro. Based on a modular concept, it includes Biogents versions of the established EVS (Encephalitis Virus Surveillance) trap and CDC (Centers of Disease Control) light trap, as well as an upgraded version of Biogents’ BG-Sentinel trap. The new product is a recognition of market requests for Biogents to develop other styles of monitoring traps to the same standard as the BG-Sentinel.
After years of being acknowledged as the manufacturer of the BG-Sentinel, the standard tool for Aedes monitoring, Biogents has decided to add its own versions of other standard monitoring tools in the vector management market and therefore to produce its own versions of EVS and CDC type traps. Biogents’ understanding of the monitoring market means the traps are easy to assemble, easy to transport, and easy to use in every type of application.
The result of the new development is a modular product offering the possibility to assemble different configurations such as EVS, CDC, and BG-Sentinel that can be easily converted into each other. This means the BG-Pro can be used in a wide range of monitoring application and all the trap styles benefit from Biogents performance guarantee, Biogents patented technology, production quality, and design expertise. The EVS and CDC styles take also advantage from Biogents’ counter-flow principle and the positioning of the catch bag above the fan, which reduces the damage of captured specimen. A big step ahead is the reduction of power consumption and the compatibility with powerbanks.
As with all Biogents products, the BG-Pro has been tested to prove its performance. In studies all over the world, the BG-Pro shows at least comparable performance to the original traps (more information at eu.biogents.com/bg-pro).
