Ya sabeis que nuestros vecinos tienen una de estas trampas para mosquitos Biogents BG-Mosquitaire y allí ya casi no se puede encontrar un mosquito tigre. Ayer hice un viaje corto a la casa de los propietarios para chupar sangre. ¿Y qué vi allí?

Come già sapete, I nostri vicini hanno una di queste trappole Biogents BG-Mosquitaire e laggiù è quasi impossibile trovare una zanzara tigre. Ieri ho fatto un giro dai miei padroni di casa per uno spuntino e cosa vedo lì?

Recently, some of our contacts have received e-mails from sources that pretended to be Biogents staff or management. This specific version of attempted e-mail fraud, using forged sender addresses, is called spoofing.

Due to the continuous spread of the Corona virus and as one of the efforts to “flatten the curve”, the State of Bavaria (our home state in Germany) has decided to close all schools, kindergardens and daycare centers, starting coming Monday, until the beginning of the Easter holiday, which will end on April 18th.

Biogents AG, mosquito trap manufacturer, is proud to announce its latest development of a new trap for mosquito monitoring and control: the BG-Pro. Based on a modular concept, it includes Biogents versions of the established EVS (Encephalitis Virus Surveillance) trap and CDC (Centers of Disease Control) light trap, as well as an upgraded version of Biogents’ BG-Sentinel trap. The new product is a recognition of market requests for Biogents to develop other styles of monitoring traps to the same standard as the BG-Sentinel.

After much deliberation, Biogents has decided not to attend the AMCA Annual Meeting in Portland, due to the ongoing threats posed by the Corona virus outbreak.
It is unfortunate that this decision has had to be taken as we have always been strong supporters of the AMCA and regular contributors to the Annual Meetings over the years. However, with the numbers of COVID-19 cases increasing in both Europe and the US we feel this is the only course of action.
Our primary concerns are those of a duty of care to our employees and to be able to supply our customers and distributors, both of which could be impacted by contraction and further transmission of the virus and/or extended quarantining of our staff.
Our professional products (the new BG-Pro, the BG-Counter, the BG-Sentinel, and the BG-GAT) will however still be a exhibited at the booth #316 of our distribution partner ADAPCO.

The 2019 Annual Fall Meeting of the Florida Mosquito Control Association (FMCA) will take place at the Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Ocean Front Resort from November 18th-20th.

We will be present at the 6th Annual meeting of the Pan African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA). It takes place at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé, Cameroon from September 23 to 25, 2019.

The CDC recommends using Biogents' BG-Sentinel trap as a surveillance tool in the fight against tiger mosquitoes which transmit dengue, chikungunya, and zika. According to the CDC, the BG-Sentinel is one of the most commonly used mosquito traps to collect adult tiger mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus).
